In December 2024, the Minister and Director of the Ministry of Youth inaugurated a transformative training under Dalbile’s initiative. Focused on enhancing governance capacity, youth empowerment, and civic engagement, the program brought impactful development to Galmudug State, particularly in Dhusamareb and Gaalkacyo, addressing local needs with innovative strategies.

Innovating Governance: Building Capacity in Dhusamareb

On December 15 – 17, Dalbile conducted a workshop in Dhusamareb for 15 staff members from line ministries, local government entities, and members of MOYS Galmudug staff. This initiative aimed to enhance the effectiveness and responsiveness of governance structures by fostering problem-solving and inter-departmental collaboration. The workshop emphasized practical skills and actionable solutions to governance challenges.

Key Elements of the Training:

• Scenario-Based Exercises: Participants tackled real-world governance challenges, encouraging active problem-solving and innovative thinking. For instance, groups worked on mock cases involving inter-departmental conflicts and resource allocation.
• Leadership Development: Interactive sessions focused on ethical leadership, decision-making, and inclusive governance. Emphasis was placed on building trust and fostering transparent communication between government bodies.
• Action Plans: Participants developed a personalized roadmap to apply workshop insights within their respective roles. These plans included strategies for improving service delivery, streamlining processes, and engaging with citizens more effectively.

The training was about knowledge transfer and creating a network of empowered individuals who could collaborate for greater impact. A participant remarked, “The tools we gained today will help us implement solutions that make a tangible difference.”

Empowering Youth through Technology in Gaalkacyo

From December 16 to 18, Gaalkacyo became a hub of innovation and learning as Dalbile hosted a four-day Future Ready Skills Training program. With 80 young participants, this initiative focused on equipping youth with the digital skills required to thrive in the modern workforce.

The program covered:

• Digital Literacy: Understanding computer hardware and software components, internet browsing, and safe online practices.
• Practical Applications: Hands-on sessions on using Microsoft Office tools for productivity and basic graphic design.
• Problem-Solving with Technology: Participants explored how digital tools can address community challenges and enhance productivity.

The program was more than training—it was an inspiration. Youth left the sessions empowered and confident in their ability to navigate technological landscapes and contribute meaningfully to their communities. One participant shared, “I now see how technology can transform not just my career but my entire community.”

Interactive Civic Engagement Campaigns: Amplifying Youth Voices

Dalbile’s commitment to civic engagement was brought to life through impactful campaigns that utilized social media and radio to encourage youth participation in governance. This multi-platform approach aimed to inspire active involvement and foster accountability within communities.

Campaign Components:

• Storytelling for Change: Dalbile launched a series of professionally produced videos featuring local youth-led initiatives, motivating viewers to take action. These stories highlighted impactful projects such as community clean-up efforts and grassroots advocacy.
• Radio Outreach: Engaging discussions aired on Galgaduud Radio provided a platform for listeners to actively participate in conversations, especially focusing on the critical issue of youth unemployment.
